23 year old Rafael Nadal made quite a splash on the professional scene in 2008 when he beat Roger Federer in the Wimbledon Final. Nadal had been playing professionally since he has 16 and had continually improved to the point where he was ranked number two in the ATP rankings behind Roger Federer. Nadal had actually trailed Federer for 160 weeks before finally overtaking him. 2009 was a rough year for Nadal because of a series of physical injuires.
